Daniel Nascimento was involved in the creation of Duralde’s Mission, an innovative VR experience that was featured in the Vancouver International Film Festival’s VR Rises exhibition amongst other events in Vancouver. After graduating as a Master of Digital Media, Daniel went on to work at Archiact Interactive as a Technical Artist for Virtual Reality projects. Later on Daniel started his own company Bitten Toast Games, releasing 3 titles to Steam, including Spacecats with Lasers VR, an HTC Vive game. Daniel has given VR workshops across Canada with the Academy of VR, in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto, as well as other Workshops and Talks at UBC, SFU and the Centre for Digital Media.

Dr. Bernie Garrett
PhD, PGCEA, BA (Hons), R.N.
Dr. Garrett is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia, School of Nursing. He was a renal Clinical Nurse Specialist for 15 years before becoming a nurse educator. He holds a PhD in information Science, and prior to his current appointment he was Department Head of Critical & Specialist Care at Oxford Brookes University in the U.K.
Dr. Garrett’s current work highlights two main areas: 1) The use VR and AR in clinical and educational applications, and 2) science, philosophy, and the use of deceptive and non-evidence based practices in contemporary healthcare. He is currently exploring the use of VR to mitigate chronic cancer pain.
Mike Wuetherick
Product Manager, Unity Technologies
Over the past 18 years, Mike has worked with some of the biggest companies in the world building games with Unity for a wide variety of platforms. From DeNA to Namco Bandai, he has shipped over a dozen titles with Unity and worked with some of the biggest brands in the world. He recently joined Unity to help drive the Animation, Video and Cinematic teams as Product Manager.
